JGT PR is proud to announce its collaboration with author and veteran sports journalist, David Steele. David has been a professional sports journalist for more than 35 years, and currently writes for the legal news site Law360. He has written for the Sporting News, AOL, The Baltimore Sun, The San Francisco Chronicle and Newsday. David has contributed to ESPN’s the Undefeated, USA Today and to the NAACP magazine,The Crisis.He is the co-author of Silent Gesture: The Autobiography of Tommie Smith (Temple) and of Four Generations of Color, the autobiography of pioneering baseball scout and sports agent Miles McAfee. He has won writing awards from the National Association of Black Journalists, the Association of Black Media Workers, the Associated Press Sports Editors and the Society of Professional Journalists. His latest book, It Was Always a Choice Picking up the baton of athlete activism, was published in the summer of 2022. It was named one of the best books in the Arts and Humanities of that year by the Library Journal.

JGT PR was able to support David in many ways. We booked David on several radio shows and podcasts. We held a live webinar event where he interviewed storied fellow sports journalists. In summer of 2023, JGT PR arranged a successful Meet and Greet and book signing on Martha’s Vineyard. We are currently working with David on an exciting new project as a result of the great response his book has received.
